Odacité Kind of Girl: Ari Turner, Holistic Beauty Advocate & Wellness Coach

We are so happy to introduce you to this month’s Odacité Kind of Girl, Ari Turner, a holistic beauty advocate and an inspiring health & wellness coach whose goal is to help women manage the gap between their vision board and their reality so that they can actualize their goals, beat burnout, and use holistic principles to gain clarity.

Ari went from being a frustrated single mother who felt unfulfilled with her 9-5 corporate job to being self-employed, creating a profitable business based on her passion to spread more purpose & wellness practices into women’s lives.

We had the chance to ask her some questions and get to know all about her day-to-day as well as her Odacité products she likes to have on her beauty counter.

Q: How did your passion for clean beauty, skincare and holistic living begin?

My wellness journey began about 4 years ago as a means to restore balance. Working on the film industry put a lot of stress on me physically, mentally, and emotionally. I needed a way to center and ground myself. Instead of approaching each area of life that was suffering, I decided to approach my health holistically. As I began to implement various wellness practices, people took notice. I discovered a new found passion to help women make the connection between health, wellness, and beauty and my online platform, The Holistic Beauty Collective was born. THBC allows me to educate women on what it takes to look good AND live well through online courses, digital resources, and coaching.

Q: Let’s talk skin… we are dying to know what your approach to skincare is?

Clean beauty rules lol! No seriously, if it contains toxins it cannot come near my face. I take my health seriously, and I won’t compromise it for beauty. I’m really into creating a skincare routine that allows makeup to be optional. For me that means lots of acids to exfoliate and hydrate the skin. And I’m ALL about vitamin c because I suffer from hyperpigmentation.

Q: What are your everyday skincare rituals that are non-negotiable?

I mask daily. I know, I know, it’s a lot....but it works for me. I rotate between 2-3 different masks. I cleanse and treat my skin each and every night. It doesn’t matter how long of a day I’ve had, I’m going to always make sure my skin is good before hitting my pillow. I’ve also been really into giving myself a lymphatic massage with my Gua Sha. I prefer it over a jade roller because I feel like I have a little more control while I’m using it.

Q: Can you share a tip on manifestation for our readers?

Absolutely, my pleasure! In order to manifest your goals you have to clearly identify them. Get clear and get specific. Identify what it is that you want, and begin to visualize yourself in that space. Those are great first steps.

Q: Which Odacité Products Do You Swear By?

First of all, how can I pick one?!?!? The entire line is so fabulous and intentional. I am currently lusting over the C for Colette Vitamin C + Superfood because I am ALL about a glow, but I also am in love with Bl+C Pimples Serum Concentrate because I have to have something that wrangles my acne prone skin.

60 SECONDS WITH ARI ⏰

If I had to describe myself in 3 words

Grounded, love(er/ed/ing), evolving.

My alarm is set for

On the regular it’s 5:30am, because I love to get a handle on my day before the world wakes up. But because my schedule varies from day to day, my alarm is set for at least two hours before I need to leave the house (which sometimes has me up at 3am).

I cannot start my day without

Prayer and meditation. Seriously. Both ground me in such an impactful way. After spending some time in prayer, and after meditating, I feel empowered and equipped to take on anything. When things get crazy during the day, this is my default posture (prayer/meditation).

My fridge is always stocked with

Mint, lemons and avocado. I work really hard to stay consistent with a gallon of water per day, and mint and lemons make my water delicious and easier to drink. Also, I've been playing around with the keto diet so avocados are my go to snack these days.

My favorite workout is

It's a tie between boxing, hiking and cycling. Hiking may win because I'm obsessed with being outside in nature.

To get my creative juices flowing I

Pray, read, visit a museum, listen to interviews and podcasts, spend time in nature, get quiet so that I can hear my own voice.

What is your idea of a perfect day?

On my idea of a perfect day I am in Mexico, I go for a long hike or bike ride, I spend time at the beach with my loved ones, I get a massage, I listen to Jodeci and sing really loudly, I get a facial, I eat tacos, I take a long luxurious bath (preferably outside), I meditate under the moonlight, I watch a crime documentary, I laugh with my family (seeing them happy matters SO much to me), and I fall asleep under the stars.

What is your definition of Beauty?

My definition of beauty is a life where you are loving without regard, serving others, constantly evolving, and pursuing excellence and balance.

My current mantra

Stay consistent, move with intentionality, exercise disciple daily.
